Albert E. Wilmoski, 84, residing in South Bend, passed away at 10:55 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at Hospice House. He was born November 10, 1922 in South Bend, in the family home, as the son of Albert & Lena (Krause) Wilmoski, and has lived in the same home his entire life. On November 14, 1947 in South Side Church of God, South Bend, he married Delores Fay Woodcox. He is survived by his loving wife Delores of 59 years, along with two sons, Garry A. Wilmoski of Lawrenceburg, IN, and Scott E. (Sandy) Wilmoski of Overland Park, KS. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Conrad Wilmoski, Captain, U.S. Army stationed in Bramburg, Germany, Megan Wilmoski of Vale, CO, Kara Wilmoski and Todd Wilmoski, both of Overland Park, KS, and Gregory Wilmoski, and Matthew Wilmoski, both of Louisville, KY. Two nephews, Lloyd (Clara) Sheaks of Union, MI, and Edwin (Mary Frances) Willamowski, of Mishawaka, two nieces, Janice (Allen) Locklin of Rockdale, TX, and Sharon (Bob) Tankersley of Edwardsburg, MI, survive Al as well.


Al was preceded in death by a sister, Harriet (Hattie) Brame, and two brothers, Edwin Willamowski, and Harry Wilmoski.


Mr. Wilmoski retired in 1987 as Underground Supervisor with A.E.P. following 37 years of service. He was a 1941 graduate of Riley High School, was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, a fifty year member of St. Joseph Lodge #45, F. & AM., and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend. He was also a member of Orak Shrine, Michigan City, Royal Order of Jesters, the former Tuxedo Patrol and Masonic Investment Club, member of V.F. W. Post 624, Roseland, Past President and member of Michiami Kiwanis, and was a Past Master of the former South Bend Lodge #294, F. & AM. He formerly worked as a Supervisor ushering at the Notre Dame football games. Al enjoyed his involvement in the community helping with Kiwanis fund raisers, and driving children to the Shrine Hospitals in Cincinnatti and Chicago.


Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007 in Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Dr. William Wassner, pastor of St. Peter's United Church of Christ will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday in the funeral home where members of St. Joseph Lodge #45, F. & AM., will conduct a Masonic memorial service at 7:30 p.m.
