Arietta Margaret (Johnson) Thrasher-Wade

SOUTH BEND – Arietta Margaret Thrasher-Wade, 97, passed away at 2:15 PM on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in her home.

Arietta was born in McCurtain, OK, on January 9, 1918, to the late Roy and Sarah Pearl (Miller) Johnson.

In February, 1937, Arietta married Stanley A. Thrasher, who preceded her in death in 1966.  In 1972, Arietta married C. Robert Wade, who preceded her in death.  Arietta is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Bob) Bell of South Bend; two sons, William L. Thrasher of Bunker Hill, IN and Robert (Shirley) Wade of Tennessee.  Arietta is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilyn Sue Thrasher; a son Stanley T. Thrasher, grandson, Matthew Bell, five sisters, Ruth Rinker, Susie Catto, Maude Johnson, Bobbie Dean Johnson and Edna Johnson, and two brothers, Edmond Leo Johnson and Alfred LeRoy Johnson.

Visitation will be at Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Sunday, April 19, and from 12:00 – 1:00 PM on Monday, April 20, 2015.  Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 20, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home officiated by Rev. Paul Murray.  Graveside services will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, IN.
