Barbara Sue Harman

Barbara Harman,73, lifelong area resident, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend. She was born in Sturgis, MI to the late Hugh E. and Myrna I. (Auten) Fry.

Barbara is survived by three sons, Scott T. (Pamela) Harman of Edwardsburg, Michael H. Harman of Elkhart and James G. (Dawn) Harman of Cassopolis. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Samantha J. Harman, Alec S. Harman, Austin N. Harman and Hailey S. Harman.

Barbara was owner and operator of Merle Norman in Elkhart for many years before retiring and enjoyed genealogy as a hobby and had researched her family history extensively.

A Celebration of Life service for Barbara will be held on Saturday, October 7th at 3pm at First Presbyterian Church at 200 E Beardsley Avenue in Elkhart, with reception to immediately follow. Palmer Funeral Homes – West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be donated to the First Presbyterian Church’s Miller and/or Music Foundation, the South Bend Center for the Homeless or Faith Mission in Elkhart.
