Betty J. Eming

February 21, 1927 ~ March 17, 2017 (age 90) 90 Years Old

Glory be to God for the beautiful life of Betty J. Eming, who passed away peacefully Friday, March 17, 2017. She was born February 21, 1927 in St. Louis, MO, to the late William & Lydia (Luft) Other.

In St. Louis, MO, Betty was united in marriage to the love of her life, Richard Eming, who preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vicky Kosanvich; one sister, and three brothers.

Betty is survived by her daughters, Judy Eming of South Bend and Becky (Steve) Cordes of Fort Wayne, IN; and her son, Richard Eming of Grand Rapids, MI.  She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Betty was a member of Zion United Church of Christ. She possessed a warm and loving spirit that all of her friends and family will miss dearly. She enjoyed art and was a very talented member of the At. Joe Valley Watercolor Society and the Northern Indiana Artists, Inc. Her talent led her to work for the Robinson Department Store doing illustrations of clothing in the South Bend Tribune. Betty also owned a doll shop in Niles, MI called “23 Skidoo,” for fifteen years.

A Memorial Service in honor of Betty’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, at Zion United Church of Christ, 211 S St Peter St, South Bend.  Pastor Bill Wildey will officiate. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
