Betty Jean Hershberger, 87, formerly of Mishawaka and currently residing in Atlanta, GA, passed away at 11:25 am Saturday, June 6, 2015 in her home. She was born October 6, 1927 in South Bend, IN to the late George and Raenella (Kriscamp) Wallace.
In 1950 in South Bend, IN, Betty married Lawrence W. Hershberger, Sr., who preceded her in death in August, 1989. She was also preceded by her son, Lawrence W. Hershberger, Jr. on July 6, 2003; two sisters, Katherine and Shirley Wallace; and one brother, George Wallace.
Betty is survived by her grandchildren, Crystal Vallecillo, Morgan Hershberger and Jacob Hershberger; great grandchildren, Nathan, Joshua and Olivia Howell; sisters, Arthola Loy of Granger and Patricia Miller of Marietta, GA; and brothers, Gerald Wallace of Niles, MI, Robert Wallace of Mishawaka and Richard Wallace of Winter Haven, FL.
Betty worked in assembly at Uniroyal for 40+ years before retiring. She lived in the Mishawaka area until moving to Georgia in 1984.
Funeral services for Betty will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 10, 2015 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN 46614. Rev. Greg Crump will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Adamsville Cemetery, Adamsville, MI. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to services on Wednesday in the funeral home.
