Betty June McCune

Betty June McCune, 88, of South Bend passed away at 11:20 AM on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at Memorial Hospital.  She was born on July 1, 1926 to the late Clugh William and Lucy Bell (Emmons) Hathaway.  On August 30, 1952 in South Bend, IN she was united in marriage to Jack Morris McCune who preceded Betty in death in 1993.

Betty is survived by a daughter, Susan McCune of South Bend, IN and a daughter-in-law, Lori McCune of Mishawaka, IN.  She is also survived by a sister, Francis Hedl of Mishawaka.  Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Gary McCune, who passed away in 1979, and Rick McCune, who passed away on September 27, 2014; and two sisters, Virginia Downey and Lois Hathaway. 

Betty loved to cross-stitch, read and enjoyed gardening in the spring and summer.  She was a bookkeeper with 1st Bank & Trust for 28 years.

Services will take place on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel; 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN officiated by Rev. Don Neely.  Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.  Graveside services and burial will follow services at Southlawn Cemetery, 61300 US 31 South, South Bend, IN.
