Beverly J. Wien

September 29, 1931 – July 15, 2015

MISHAWAKA – Beverly J. Wien, 83, passed away at 6:00 AM Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Hospice House, South Bend, IN. 

Beverly was born on September 29, 1931 in South Bend, IN to the late William L. and Gertrude (Schrader) Grisley and remained a lifelong area resident.  On June 12, 1954 in South Bend, IN Beverly married John R. Wien, who survives. 

Along with her loving husband of 61 years, John, she is also survived by their two daughters, Christine Wien and Cynthia Wien both of South Bend.  Beverly was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Grisley Kusse and her brother, William Grisley, Jr.

After graduating from Central High School, Beverly worked variously as a keypunch operator at Ball Band, as a Teacher’s Aide for ten years with South Bend Community School Corporation and as a housekeeper at St. Paul’s Retirement Community.  She was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, South Bend, where she sang in the choir and was a member of Petrine Keys. 

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, July 20, 2015 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 915 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46615.  Rev. Scott Bowie, pastor of the church, will officiate.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
