Brian Lijewski

October 27, 1970 - September 22, 2016

Brian Mark Lijewski, 45 years old, passed away at 10:10 pm Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Hospice House, South Bend, after a brief battle with cancer.  He previously worked at Hoffman Brothers Auto Parts in Niles.  Brian was born on October 27, 1970, in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Edward and Elaine (Sytek) Lijewski.  Brian was raised in Union Pier, Michigan then moved to South Bend in the 1990’s.  On August 13, 2009 in South Bend, Indiana, Brian married Lisa Asher, who survives.

Along with his loving wife, Lisa, Brian is also survived by his daughter, Brianna Valenti of Phoenix, AZ; one son, Brice Lijewski of Phoenix, AZ; stepdaughter, Atlantis Asher of Mishawaka; granddaughter, Keely Gilchrist of South Bend; two sisters, Pam (Jack) Comer of Edwardsburg and Maryann (Brent) Hurst of Colwich, KS; and two brothers, Edward (Nancy) Lijewski and Roger (Allison) Lijewski both of New Buffalo. 

Brian loved his dogs, Malibu, and Turbo and Charger.  His hobbies included drag racing, camping and fishing.  He was a member of American Legion Post 303 and served as Past Commander of Sons of the American Legion.  Brian graduated from New Buffalo High School in 1989, where he enjoyed playing football. He attended Ferris State College.

Memorial services for Brian will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, where friends may visit one hour prior to services.
