Calvin L. Stuart, Jr., 60, lifelong South Bend resident, passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born March 23, 1956 in South Bend to Calvin L. and Lee Ann (Simon) Stuart.
Calvin retired as a carpenter from Local Union #413, where he had worked for 20+ years. He loved being a carpenter and took a tremendous amount of pride in the buildings and projects with which he was involved. Calvin also enjoyed playing billiards.
In addition to his parents, Calvin and Lee Ann Stuart of South Bend, Calvin is survived by his daughter, April Stuart of South Bend; sons, Eric Stuart and Jason (Brandy) Stuart, both of South Bend; grandchildren, Cassandra Stuart, Ethan Jakab, Jacob and Bianca Sula and Connor Stuart; and his longtime girlfriend, Sherry Paul, also of South Bend. He is also survived by sisters, Terri Nelson of South Bend and Lori (Eric) Vance of St. Joseph, MI. He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Allen Stuart.
Funeral services for Calvin will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, October 22, 2016 in the Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family for two hours prior to services on Saturday in the funeral home.
