Carol Stratman Obituary

Carol Ann Stratman, 85, residing in Granger, passed away peacefully in her home at 12:58 am Thursday, March 22, 2018. She was born September 18, 1932 in Chicago, IL to the late Harold and Lillian (Berg) Johnson.

Carol married Joseph Robert Stratman, who also preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Stratman of South Bend; son, Joseph “Robert” Stratman of Granger; grandson, Craig R. McFarland; and great grandson, Anthony B. McFarland.

Carol was a member of the 1950 graduating class of Huntington High School in Huntington, IN. She has lived in the South Bend area 40+ years and was a member of Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. She worked as a secretary at St. Therese, Little Flower Catholic Church as a secretary prior to retirement. Carol was a member of Tri-Kappa Service Sorority and had previously worked for Welcome Wagon for Newcomers.

There will be no public services. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements. Carol will be laid to rest privately with her husband, Joseph, in Southlawn Cemetery at a later date.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Carol may be donated to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
