Charles Wesley Busard, Jr.

Charles Wesley Busard, Jr. , 86, of South Bend, IN passed away at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Sanctuary at St. Paul.  He was born on August 18, 1928 in Fort Madison, IA to the late Charles Wesley and Helen Margaret (Smith) Busard Sr.  He was married in 1947 to Doris Phillips and on October 22, 1960 in Monmouth, IL to Bonnie Elva Kuder.

Mr. Busard is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Bonnie E. Busard;  children, Nancy (Michael) Chu of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer Fitzsimmons of Lakeland, FL, Sue (George) Egalite of Lakeland, FL, Cindy Kay Busard of Orem, UT and Lyman Wesley (Libby) Busard of Greenwood, IN; stepchildren, Jody (Jack) Hurley of Michigan City, IN, Judith Ann (Charles) Bowen of South Bend, IN, David (Pat) Kuder of Plymouth, IN and Roy (Martha) Kuder of South Bend, IN; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his grandson, Douglas Lippert and sister, Marjorie Helen Nix.

Mr. Busard moved to Plymouth, IN in 1961 coming from Burlington, IA.  He spent most of his time driving a truck  eventually retiring in 2000.Charlie was very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served as a High Priest, Branch President along with many other roles.  The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff on the third floor at St. Paul's for their kindness and care.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St. Lakeville, IN.  Bishop Steve Worthen will  officiate.  Burial will follow at  Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family two hours prior to the service.
