Clinton Lee Suggs

Clinton Lee Suggs, 61, of South Bend, IN passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at his home.  Clinton was born in Elkhart, IN on February 8, 1956 to Mack and Dorothy (Newsome) Suggs.  

Clinton was married to Chantal Gauthier in 1982 and had his only son, Paxton Suggs, in 1984. He married Carla Bloch Suggs in 2007. He is survived by his wife, Carla Suggs; his son, Paxton Suggs; sister, Veronica (Sam) Elmore, and his brothers, Shafer and Michael (Verlie) Suggs, also aunts, Ruth Jones, Shirley Bramley, Martha Webb and uncles, Nolan and Wilber Newsome.  As well as a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. 

Clinton served as a Deep Sea Diver in the U.S. Navy for over twenty years and earned the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer (Hon.) as well as the Prisoner of War Commendation, Sailor of the Year Commendations, Navy/Marine Corps Commendations, Humanitarian Service Medals, and many others.    

Carla will be hosting a celebration of life for Clinton on June 30,2017 at DAV, 1205 Middleton Run Road, Elkhart, IN 46516 at 5:00 p.m. (EST).

Paxton will be hosting a memorial service for Clinton on July 23, 2017 at McNaughton Park, Elkhart, Indiana  at 2 PM (EST). Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
