Daisy Doris Lawrence, 80, residing in South Bend, passed away at 4:55 am Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at Hospice House of South Bend. She was born July 22, 1935 in South Bend, IN to the late Joe Toney and Doris Roberson.
Daisy was employed as a fiscal manager at Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. She retired in 1999 after 20 years. Except for the 20 years she lived in Ohio, Daisy spent most of her lifetime in the South Bend area. She was formerly a hairstylist for 25 years.
Daisy is survived by her son, Anthony (Karen) Lawrence of South Bend; grandson, Anthony Lawrence, II of Denver, CO; sister, Jacqulene (Wayman) Redding of South Bend; nieces, Kymberley Fleming and Erika Bowles; and her dear friend, Cheryl “Babes” Hayes; as well as a host of great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Bowles.
Funeral services for Daisy will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, May 31, 2016 in the Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend. Rev. André McGhee from Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family for one hour prior to services on Tuesday in the funeral home.
