Dan was on our AmeriCorps team as a BSW student at Bridges Out of Poverty. I was so impressed that he was willing to make this shift from a union job as a pipe fitter to a social worker. He took on all that work with courage and determination. He was willing to learn and always happy to contribute.

Dan had such a kind and open heart, so easy to get along with, and thoughtful to everyone. He never judged people, which helped people feel easy around him. He would have made a fine social worker, and the fact is, he was one, touching many people's lives already. I'm so grateful for his service to our organization, and for the chance to get to know Dan.

My heartfelt condolences to his family and most especially to his children. Our prayers are with you. Dan, you will be missed.

I am so sorry for your loss! Dan was an amazing guy. He was a cherished member of the BSW 2015 class aka The Wolf Pack. He was always quick to smile and provide encouragement during stressful times. The world, and myself are better for having known him.

We truly cherished Dan in the social work program. He had the gift of living in the moment, of moving forward with hope and openness to welcome new adventures. His kindness and compassion made him a beloved member of our community.
