MISHAWAKA – Danny Paul Fairres, 65, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 3:00 AM Monday, June 1, 2015 at the Golden Living Center Nursing Home, Mishawaka.
Danny was born on June 29, 1949 in Florence, Alabama to the late Temple and Ola (Geans) Fairres and has been a lifelong resident of the Mishawaka area. Danny was a 1967 graduate of Mishawaka High School. He honorably served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War Conflict. Following his years in the service, Danny worked at Wheelabrator in Mishawaka and later at Dodge. Danny also enjoyed remodeling homes and was an excellent handyman and electrician. He loved to go fishing, was a wonderful cook, and enjoyed sitting around a campfire on his swing.
Danny is survived by his two children, Misty and Stevie; two grandchildren; four brothers, Raymond Fairres of Florence, AL, Jim Fairres of South Bend, John Fairres of Walkerton and Rick Fairres of Mishawaka; many nieces, nephew, great-nieces and great-nephews; and the mother of his children, Sandy Smith. He was preceded in death by his sister, Erlene Funkhouser.
