David J. Fyr, 72, residing in Granger, passed away at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. He was born March 24, 1943 in Birmingham, AL to the late Howard and Evelyn (Godwin) Fyr. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Fyr in April, 1994.
On April 12, 1969 in Westchester, IL, David married the former Jacquelyn M. Chalifoux, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 46 years, he is survived by daughters, Brigid Fyr Tabour of Chicago, IL and Kirsten (Bernie) Fyr-Searcy of Romeoville, IL; sons, Kyle (Wan) Fyr of Bangkok, Thailand and Kevin Fyr of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Lauren Tabour and Keenan Fyr; and sister, Kathryn (Ronald) Hoysack of Bloomingdale, IL.
David was employed by All-Phase Electric in Benton Harbor, MI as Systems Manager. He moved to the South Bend area in 1984 from LaGrange, IL.
Mass of Christian Burial for David will be celebrated at 11:30 am, Tuesday, June 23, 2015 in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to mass. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
