Donald Theodore Scott, 79, residing in South Bend, passed away at 2:50 pm Thursday, August 20, 2015 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. He was born February 6, 1936 in Mishawaka to the late Donald J. and Margaret Scott and remained a lifelong area resident.

Don served his country honorably in the United States Army and was a lifetime member of VFW Post #360. He worked at Alro Steel until retirement.

In June 1962, Don married Christine Jozwiak, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his brother, Danny Scott; and brothers-in-law, Bob Finley and Art Jozwiak; as well as his best friend, Bob Giles. He is survived by daughters, Becky (Darrel) Ingle of South Bend and Theresa Scott of Hanna, IN; sons, Paul (Sherry) Scott of South Bend, Dan Scott of San Diego, CA, Steve (Mary) Scott of Longmont, CO and Rick (Tammy) Scott of South Bend; thirteen grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren. Don is also survived by sisters-in-law, Rita Finley of South Bend and Gay Jozwiak of Hanna, IN; as well as his dear friend, Sharon Giles.

Funeral services for Don will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in the Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Greg Crump will officiate.  Military graveside services and burial will take place at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Marion National Cemetery, 1700 E. 38th Street, Marion, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 25, 2015 in the funeral home.
