Donald “Dick” R. Zellers

MISHAWAKA – Donald “Dick” R. Zellers, 78, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 12:45 PM Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Golden Living Center, Elkhart.  Dick was born on April 17, 1937 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Ralph Zellers and Valena (Hemphill) Zellers.  He was a lifelong resident of this area and proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.

On May 18, 1968 at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, South Bend, he was united in marriage to Norma (Wallis) Zellers, who survives.  In 1962, Dick became the owner and operator of the longtime family owned business, The Radio Clinic.   Later he worked for 26 years as the Repair Department Manager of Larry’s Auto Radio Specialist, retiring in 2007.  He was a member of The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, South Bend.

Dick is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Norma Zellers, of Mishawaka; daughter, Jennifer Zellers of Mishawaka; son, Donald (Michelle) Zellers of Elkhart; grandchildren, Cameron Zellers and Paige Zellers; and sister, JoAnne Zellers of Falls Church, VA.  Along with his parents, Ralph and Valena Zellers, Dick was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Chamberlin.

Funeral services for Dick Zellers will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at The Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 805 S. 29th Street, South Bend, IN 46615 with Pastor Steven Latzke officiating.  Graveside services with Military Honors will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Friends may visit with the family on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 4:00 PM till 8:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615 and for one hour prior to services at the church.
