Donna Misch Panzica
August 4, 1953 ~ June 7, 2015

Donna Misch Panzica, passed away after a brief illness on June 7th, 2015 in Brunswick, GA at the age of 61. She was surrounded by family and friends as she made her peaceful journey Home.

Donna is survived by her father, Walter H. Misch Jr. of Cassopolis, MI; her daughter, Tara Ashleigh Peel-Pousson (Anthony) of Niles, MI; her grandchildren, Noah Gene, Neah Talor and Nicoletta Marie, all of Niles, MI; two sisters, Diane Rodkey (Dan) of West Lafayette, IN and Kristine Roeder (Denis) of Edwardsburg, MI. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Doris Misch; sister, Karoline Misch; and husband, John Panzica.

Donna was born on August 4th, 1953 in Mishawaka, IN to Walter and Doris Misch. After graduating from Cassopolis High School in 1971, she attended Memorial School of Nursing and received a diploma in nursing in 1974.  In 1986, Donna set forth to further her education, receiving degrees from both the University of St. Francis and later, in 1988, a Master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame. Donna worked as a registered nurse for over 40 years in Indiana, Michigan and Florida. She was passionate about the profession of nursing, which led to her continued growth as an RN, working in ICU, administrative supervision, education of future nurses and VP of patient care services. She retired in 2013.

On January 11th, 1993 she married John A. Panzica, the love of her life whom she met through a mutual friend some years before. She took great pride in her daughter, who became an RN in 2009 and spent much time listening to and encouraging Tara to further her education. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, who will miss her deeply and the time that they shared together. Her dog, Saki or as she called him "little man" will also miss her greatly.

Donna was a devout Catholic, often writing beautiful prayers for anyone who was experiencing difficult times. She was always generous with her time for those who needed encouragement and compassion. Donna was witty and would always give honest advice for those who asked. She was blessed to have Sue, her  “BFF” for so many years. She was proud to be an alumna of Notre Dame and marveled at the beauty that it held. She enjoyed the beach and the peace that it brought to her when she was able to throw on a pair of flip flops, grab a good book and let the sun soak in. She was immensely patriotic and was honored by the military service of many members of her family.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 12th 2015 at 9:30 A.M. at The Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame, with interment following at Southlawn Cemetery.  A reception will be held at The Landing following burial.
