MISHAWAKA – Emma May (Zeider) Stroes, 74, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 11:19 AM Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.
Emma was born on September 23, 1941 in Mishawaka, Indiana to the late James Zeider and Beulah (Grundrum) Zeider and has been a lifelong resident of this area, graduating from John AdamsHigh School in 1960. Following her years in high school, Emma attended Vogue Beauty School and received her Electrolysis License. She worked as a beautician and hairdresser for 55 years. Emma also worked in systems at the Meijer located on Portage Road for 13 years, before retiring in 2015. She attended First United Methodist Church, South Bend and was a member of the Progress Club in Bremen and a member of the Women’s Golf League.
On February 6, 1971 at Grace United Methodist Church, South Bend, she was united in marriage to Gene A. Stroes, who survives. She is also survived by daughters, Kathleen (Ronald) Bova of Naperville, IL and Kimberly Stroes of Indianapolis, IN; sons, Bryan (Kimberly) Stroes of Wellington, FL and Frank J. Stroes of Mishawaka, IN; grandchildren, Michelle Kibbe, Garret Bova, Brittany Bova, Andrew Bova, Haley Stroes, Zachary Stroes, Mitchell Stroes, Owen J. Stroes, and Dominic Stroes; six great grandchildren; and her sister, Patsy Lee of Scottsdale, AZ
Along with her parents, James and Beulah Zeider, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Stanton and her brother, Keith Zeider.
A memorial service for Emma May (Zeider) Stroes will be at 11:00 AM Friday, December 4, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, 333 N. Main Street, South Bend, IN 46601.Pastor Mary Hubbard will officiate. Friends may visit with the family at the church one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church or to the Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
