Evan G. Easterday

Evan G. Easterday, a lifelong resident of the Lakeville community, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at Hospice House, South Bend. He was 97 years old.  He was born May 9, 1920 in Bremen, IN, a son of the late Elbert & Maude (Kline) Easterday.  He was  preceded in death by his brother, Carl Easterday.

On June 30, 1941 in LaPorte, IN, he was united in marriage to Lydia Mae Feagler.  Together, they enjoyed 71 years of marriage until her passing on February 26, 2013.

Mr. Easterday is survived by his daughter Carolyn (Lee) VanWanzeele of Lakeville, his two sons, Glen (Debbie) Easterday and Terry (Carol) Easterday, of Lakeville, along with six grandchildren, Terry, Tabitha, Crystal, Angie, Glennie, and Lisa.  He is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Damien, Ethan, Zachary, Alison, Evan, Joshua, Lydia, Hunter, and Tye.

He retired from Oliver White Farm Equipment Company where he worked for 29 years as a Receiving Clerk.  He was a longtime member of Olive Branch United Brethren in Christ Church.  He enjoyed reading, hunting and fishing.

Services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Olive Branch United Brethren in Christ Church, 22750 Osborne Road, Lakeville.  Rev. Arnold Smith will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at the Palmer Funeral Home within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 North Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN.  Visitation will also occur one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
