Gerald K. Foster

Gerald K. Foster, residing in Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 4:46 a.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Hearth at Juday Creek.  He was born August 15, 1925 in Crystal, MI to the late Kenneth C. and Thelma (Frisbie) Foster, coming to the Michiana area in 1999.

On December 19, 1944, in Greenville, MI, he married Irma Iris Franceshini-Lucca, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Louis (Terri) Foster of Allendale, MI, and a daughter, Teresa Foster of Mishawaka, IN; six grandchildren; Heather (Richard) Timmer, Elizabeth (Benjamin) Thibault, Angie (Roy) Thomas, Cathy Mooi, Mike (Kim) Jolly and Sarah Jolly; seven greatgrandchildren; Abigail Thomas, Hannah Timmer, Anthony Thibault, Eva Thibault, Lincoln Jolly, Lukia Jolly and Zachary Thomas; and his sister; Mertice Ehlert of Greenville, MI.

Gerald is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Howard, William and Paul Foster, and his sister Louise Finkbiner.

Gerald proudly served his country in both the Marines and the Coast Guard. Gerald spent most of his working years in the automotive industry; many of those years as a laborer in General Motors, where he retired after 30 years in 1987. He was third degree Knight of Columbus and attended St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Kentwood, MI prior to attending Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mishawaka. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Funeral services for Gerald K. Foster will be held privately at Resurrection Cemetery, Grand Rapids, MI.
