Geraldine Marie Vealey Selner

Geraldine Marie Vealey, 72, residing in Mishawaka, passed away at 9:00 pm Friday, May 29, 2015 in Golden Living Center. She was born June 11, 1942 in Coloma, MI to the late Harry John and Wilma M. (Burden) Wagner and remained a lifelong area resident.

 

On October 1, 1965 in Mishawaka, Geraldine married Harold Selner, who preceded her in death. On July 15, 1995 in Elkhart, she married James E. Vealey, who also preceded her on November 8, 2006. She was also preceded in death by a great grandson, Jeremy MacIntire.

 

Geraldine is survived by daughters, Troyann (Albert) DeBaillie of Mishawaka and Toni (Michael) Newgent of South Bend; sons, Harold (Jody) Selner, II of Mishawaka and Kent Selner and Greg (Michelle) Selner, both of South Bend; stepdaughter, Irene (Richard) Sopata of Medina, OH; stepson, Claude (Celeste) Vealey of Cleveland, OH; twenty five grandchildren; and twenty four great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her very close family friends, Bobbie Kollars of South Bend and Loretta Nelson and Arlene Gardner, both of Mishawaka.

 

Geraldine worked in home health care for Elkhart General Hospital until retirement. When her children were younger, she was very involved with PTA and Campfire Girls.

 

Memorial services for Geraldine will be at 12:00 pm Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Gateway Fellowship, located at 54700 Fir Road, Mishawaka, IN. Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
