Gerardina Theodora Maria (Buijs) Woodruff

Gerardina Theodora Maria (Buijs) Woodruff, age 56, of Logansport, IN passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018. Gerardina worked in insurance claims. She was born on March 9, 1962 in Tilburg, Netherlands to Gerrit and Goverdina (Klijberg) Buijs.

On December 21, 2001 in Elkhart, IN, Gerardina married Donald “Thom” Woodruff, who survives. Gerardina is also survived by her daughter Diana (Stanley Zebroski) Buijs of South Bend, step-daughter Christina Woodruff of Mishawaka, sister Martina (Jan) Van Baal-Buijs, sister-in-law Liesbeth Koetje, and brothers Fred Buijs, Henny Buijs, and Jos (Sjoertje) Buijs. She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters Jacquline Greven-Buijs and Francine Buijs, and brother Rinus Buijs.

Gerardina was very technology savvy. She enjoyed computers, both building them as well as playing on them. Her favorite online game was Everquest. She played two accounts simultaneously better than most could play one account. She was kind and giving, not prone to flights of fancy. She was creative and artistic. She loved to knit, draw, and paint with oils and water colors. She was an avid music lover. She would sing along, tap her toes, or drum out the beat on her knees. She had strength, strength of character and strength of resolve. If she set her mind to it she’d accomplish it, most generally. She held my heart and shall always be my soulmate. She inspired me to be a better man. By far, she is and was the best person I know.

Funeral services for Gerardina will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00am-1:00pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
