Gertrude "Trudy" Reed Mar. 6, 1934 - July 25, 2015 SOUTH BEND - Gertrude "Trudy" Reed, 81, of South Bend, IN died 6:52 a.m. Saturday, July 25, 2015 in Kalida, Ohio. She was born March 6, 1934 in South Bend, IN to the late Francis and Helene (Gleisman) Redford. On November 29, 1952 she married Arthur Reed who died April 8, 2007. Trudy is survived by two children: Michael (Joan) Reed of Springfield, IL and Vickie (Bill) Goedde of Kalida, OH; five grandchildren: Wendy (Josh) Freidrich of Springfield, IL, Carol (Shannon) Donally of Quincy, IN, Dawn Goedde of Hilliard, OH, Matthew (Lori) Goedde of West Liberty, OH and Nathan (Alisha) Goedde of Kalida, OH; and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Bette Rex. Trudy was retired as a head cook for Swanson Elementary School, but stayed busy in retirement, by volunteering at Copshaholm, spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her dog Maggie. A memorial service will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Pastor Chuck Wotring of Northway Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
