Gladys M. Hahn

Gladys M. Hahn, 89, of North Liberty, IN passed away at 8:13 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Grand Emerald Place, South Bend, IN.  She was born on August 5, 1928 in New Carlisle, IN to the late Ervine and Minnie (Fox) Truex.  On November 8, 1947, she married Leroy J. Hahn who preceded her in death on October 29, 2010.

Gladys is survived by her children, George Eugene (Carol) Hahn, Bev June (Gary) Petrak, Betty Joan (Gary) Kocsis and Paul David (Joyce) Hahn; five grandchildren, Jennifer Roberts, Mindy Hahn, Grant Kocsis, Ellen Fisher and Hannah McNeely; eight great grandchildren and one on the way.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leroy Hahn, grandson, Kyle J. Kocsis and five brothers, Melvin, Walter, Lester, Russell and Kenneth Truex.

Gladys was a lifelong area resident.  She retired from RACO Manufacturing in South Bend, IN and taught Sunday school for many years.  She once paid to have a well dug for a village in Africa.  When asked how she wanted to be remembered her answer was “She was always truthful.”

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Southgate Church, 3717 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. Saturday at church. Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. EST Monday, December 18, 2017 at Oak Grove Cemetery, LaPorte, IN. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family.
