James “Jimmy” K. Guffey, 58, residing in South Bend, passed away at 11:15 pm Monday, April 16, 2018 in his home. He was born March 29, 1960 in St. Louis, MO to the late Bob and Marilyn (Dent) Guffey.

On February 16, 1983 in St. Louis, Jimmy married the former Carole A. Rowberry, who survives. In addition to his loving wife of 35 years, he is survived by daughters, Kristy (Cedric) Guffey and Katie (Tony) Shane, both of South Bend; sons, Robert (Scherrese) Guffey of Mishawaka and Keith (Crystal) Guffey of South Bend; fourteen grandchildren; and one great grandchild; as well as siblings, Karen Daugherty and Sean Guffey, both of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by one sister, Diane Guffey; and two brothers, Mike and Tim Guffey.

Jimmy has lived in the South Bend area since 1989, coming from St. Louis, MO. He worked as a shipping clerk at a dental warehouse for 30 years prior to retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at his lake house, but most importantly loved and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held at a later date. Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
