Jeff A. Huffaker

Jeff A. Huffaker, 62, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 24, 2016 at home after a courageous two year battle with liver cancer.  He was born on March 2, 1954 in South Bend, IN to Don E. and Violet M. (Snyder) Huffaker, who both preceded him in death.

Jeff is survived by a very special friend, Jodi A. Wilson; Uncle Ray and Aunt Rosie Snyder; and sister, Beth A. Huffaker.  He is also survived by cousins, Michael, Denny and David Snyder and Sally, Nancy and Peter Huffaker, nephews, Don Storin, and Matthew Storin; nieces, Sara Perry, and Rebecca Dietrich. He is also survived by great nephews, Cameron Storin, Jaxson Nickell, Kyle Dietrich and Blake Malstaff. He was preceded in death by his loving sister, Sharon K. Dietrich.

Jeff's diverse automotive career spanned over fifty years.  He began in the family auto repair business.  After learning body repair and refinishing, he moved into estimating and a supervisory position.  He was involved in education above and beyond career goals.  In 1998, he was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Society.  He received his Associate Degree in accounting, Magna Cum Laude in 2001.   He also earned certification and was licensed as an automotive damage appraiser.  He currently worked for SGS Automotive Services, Inc.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2016 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend and one hour prior to the services.  Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the funeral home. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.
