Jennifer L. Thompson Sandke

Jennifer L. Thompson Sandke was called upon by the Lord early in the morning of Saint Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2018. She was born joyfully on January 29, 1974, in Salt Lake City, UT, unto Doug Thompson and Linda Gilliland, who both survive. 

Jennifer lived her life through her main passions: family, friends, and expression. She grew up happily alongside her three sisters, Susan, Shannon, and Stephanie, who all survive. After meeting her soul mate, Patrick Sandke, who survives, at Miller Junior High School in San Jose, CA and cheerleading until graduation from Lynbrook High, she pursued her lifelong and impressive career in cosmetology. She moved to Michigan and eventually Granger, IN, to raise her four children and snugly settle into her church family at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 2013 she finally rejoined with her partner Patrick, and they were married on Saint Patrick’s Day in 2017, exactly one year before her passing.

Jennifer was one of the chosen and gilded few to see the world in a different way: in light and in love. Her drive towards this love and familial devotion guided her towards bringing into the world her four children: Molly and Emily Sandler, and Jacob and Macy Gunnell, who all survive. Her eye for construction and design was precise and instinctual, and lead to her perfectly cozy home, filled to bursting with homemade treasures of all sorts. Most of all in her home, as well as wherever she went, lived hours upon hours of unbridled, hearty laughter. She was, and remains to be, one of God’s funniest creatures.

Funeral services for Jennifer will be at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 23, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 930 Park Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545. A private burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Palmer Funeral Home- River Park Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
