Joan Irene Borsch, 73, of South Bend, Indiana passed away peacefully the 25th day of September, 2016.

Joan was born in South Bend to Frank and Irene Ferris, Sr.  On July 22, 1961 she was united in marriage to Albert L. Borsch, Sr.  She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Ferris, Sr., her mother Irene Ferris and her loving husband, Albert L. Borsch, Sr. of 35 years.  She is survived by her three children, Albert L. (Lisa) Borsch, Jr., Tina (Michael) Hamilton, and Cheryl Borsch, two grandchildren, Braydin Michalski and Sharra Albright.  Joan is also survived by two sisters, Jean (Dick, deceased) Kinyon, Barbara (Terry) Tharp and two brothers, Frank (Caroline, deceased) Ferris and Ronald (Rose) Ferris all of South Bend.

Joan touched the lives of all that knew her.  Joan worked at Notre Dame in the JACC for about 33 years in concessions Gate 10.  Also worked at Hooks, Revco then CVS for 13 years.  She also loved to bake and decorate birthday and wedding cakes, and cook among many other things.  Joan also loved the holidays, decorating for every one of them.  Her life revolved around her family and her friends were special to her as well.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 30, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend.  Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family form 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Friday.
