Jordan "Mitch" Mitchell, Jr.

Jordan “Mitch” Mitchell, Jr., 79 years old, passed away on Friday morning, February 10, 2017 at his home.  Mr. Mitchell was born on August 15, 1937 in South Bend to the late Jordan and Anna (Belakovich) Mitchell, Sr.  He has remained a lifelong resident of South Bend.  On October 22, 1960 in South Bend, Jordan and Sharlet K. Blosser were united in marriage. 

Along with his wife, Sharlet, survivors include their son, Jeffrey Mitchell of South Bend; granddaughter, Abby Jordan (Landon) Smith of Mt. Pleasant, MI; four great grandchildren, Cheyenne, Claire, Dalton, and Cassy; one sister, Dorothy Taylor of Bremen, IN; and twelve nieces and nephews.  Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond C. Mitchell. 

Mr. Mitchell was a truck driver most of his life, retiring from Crown International.  After retirement, he enjoyed working at Enterprise Car Rental.  Mr. Mitchell was a volunteer with Centre Township Fire Department and proudly served his country with the United States Army.

Following his wishes, there will be no services or visitation.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend and Southlawn Cremation Services is assisting his family.
