Juanita E. West

Juanita E. West, 89 years old, passed away at 2:17 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Hospice House, South Bend.  Mrs. West was born on August 24, 1928 in South Bend to the late Ralph and Mary Ellen (Vanhart) Myers-Wilson. She has been a lifelong resident of South Bend.  On February 1, 1946 in South Bend, Juanita and Lewis A. West were united in marriage. Lewis preceded her in death on August 17, 1996. One brother, Paul Myers, also preceded her in death.  

Mrs. West is survived by her two daughters, Carol (Robert) Stokes of South Bend and Dora (Jerry Luddington) Rogers of Osceola; three sons, Jack (Alice) West of South Bend, Louie (Patrice Fine) West of Lakeville and David (Debbie) West of Rigby, Idaho; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.

Mrs. West loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was an avid reader, and enjoyed crocheting and puzzles. Her favorite job was being a mom.  

Friends may pay their respects and visit with the family from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.  A private burial will be held at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend where she will be laid to rest next to her husband.
