Kathleen "Tina" Dougherty

Kathleen “Tina” (Ploughe) Dougherty, 55 years old, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.  Tina was born on July 17, 1960 in South Bend to Vern and Frances “June” (Nick) Ploughe.  She has been a lifelong area resident.  On December 23, 2006 in South Bend, Tina was united in marriage to Michael Dougherty who survives.

Along with her husband, Mike, survivors include her daughter, Brooke Nicole Dickson of North Liberty; mother and step-father, Frances “June” and George Bonczynski of South Bend; four grandchildren, Nicole, Ashley, Kailey, and Michael; four sisters, Sharon Zalas of South Bend, Debbie Blatz of Mishawaka, Connie Kourlas of North Liberty, and Lisa Ploughe of Michigan City, IN; one brother, David Ploughe of South Bend; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and extended family.

Tina attended Ivy Tech for two years, earning her Certified Medical Assistant.  She worked at Patrick Metals for ten years prior to retiring.  Tina loved her family and friends and especially loved all of her grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the West Side Church of Christ, 22987 W. Edison Road, South Bend, IN.  There will be no visitation.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend and Southlawn Cremation Services is assisting the family.
