Kenneth R. Bennett

Kenneth R. Bennett, 65 years old, passed away at 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the Katherine Casper Nursing Home, Plymouth, IN.  Mr. Bennett was born on December 11, 1951 in South Bend and has remained a lifelong resident.  He retired from Bendix Corporation in South Bend after more than 25 years of employment.  After retirement, he enjoyed driving truck for several companies.  Mr. Bennett proudly served his country with the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  He was a member of the American Legion in Lakeville and a member of the Marshall County Church of Christ.  He enjoyed attending NASCAR races, fishing, RC cars and RC planes.  He was an avid collector of antique classic cars and motorcycles and loved attending classic car shows. 

Mr. Bennett is survived by his son, Nipon Jake (Jennifer) Bennett of Norton, OH; father, Rodger Dean Bennett of Plymouth; three granddaughters, Madison, Megan and Claire; sister, Ann (Don) Brown of Osceola; brother, Bruce (Dixie) Bennett of Mishawaka; three nephews, Daniel, Andrew and Adam Bennett; and two nieces, Tracey and Melissa Bennett.  Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his mother, Alice M. (Smith) Bennett; and one brother, Michael Bennett.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, located within the Palmer Community Complex.  Military graveside services and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.  Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
