MISHAWAKA – Kenneth Robert “Buddy” Hurley, Jr., 62 years old, residing in Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Friday July 14, 2016 surrounded by his family.

Buddy was born on August 27, 1953, in South Bend, Indiana to the late Kenneth Robert Hurley, Sr. and Juanita Landis Hurley.  He served in the United States Army from 1972-1978.  He was a steel worker at Steel Warehouse, South Bend, for 34 years. Buddy was an avid Notre Dame follower and fan his entire life.

Buddy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Carlie Hurley of Mishawaka; two grandchildren, Payson and Elliott Hurley; four sisters, Kolleen Landaw, Ronda Engstrom, Margie (Joseph) Nemeth, and Nancy (Donald) Sparks; two brothers, Rory Hurley and Timothy Hurley; brother-in-law, Alan Otterstetter; and several nieces and nephews. Buddy was preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary Otterstetter.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN, where friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services.  Rev. John Wilson will officiate.  Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
