Kester L. King

Kester L. King, 69, residing in South Bend, IN passed away at his home on Friday, June 26, 2015 after he fought hard to overcome cancer. He was born on August 20, 1945 to the late  Kester D. and Halo L. King. Kester graduated from LaPorte High School in 1963 and graduated from Tri State University in 1967. He earned his Master’s Degree in Accounting from IUSB.

In 1966 he married Judith Gill, who survives. He is also survived by his sons;  David King and Larry (Angel) King both of South Bend;  his six grandchildren; and one great granddaughter, as well as one sister,  Carol King-Reed of New Paltz, NY;  and companion to his late son, Kester R. King, Venessa Niles of South Bend.  Kester was preceded in death by his son Kester R. King, grandson Billiejo King and his sister Susan Thomason.

Kester retired from Bosch after 40 years of employment. Then went to work for H&R Block. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.  He was a member of numerous organizations. His family would like to thank the Center for Hospice Care for their support.

Funeral services for Kester will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, July 1,2015 at Palmer Funeral Homes-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN  46635. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday from 5:00pm- 8:00pm at the funeral home as well  one hour prior to funeral  services on Wednesday. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery at a later date.

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Kester may be donated to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 51490 Laurel Road, South Bend, IN  46637; or Center for Hospice, 501 Comfort  Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545; or to the Donor’s Choice.
