Lester "Gubby" Marvin McLean

Lester "Gubby" M. McLean, 46, of South Bend, IN passed away at 6:00 a.m. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his home.  He was born in March 1971 in South Bend, IN to Robert and Sherry (Estergren) McLean.  On May 5, 2001 in South Bend, IN, he married the love of his life, Shelley McLean ( Newman).

Les is survived by his loving wife, Shelley McLean; beloved mother Sherry Estergren; daughter, Raelynn McLean (Devon Lumpkin) of South Bend; daughter-in-law, Angela  McLean (Brandon Howard) of South Bend; step mother, Jeannie McLean of South Bend; grandchildren, Mia, Brysen, Mai'Aunna, A'leia, Khyri, Nathan, Haile, Vontae, D.J., Braxton, Brandon, Brayden, Kayden, and Heaven; Sister, Tracey McLean ( Cornelius Montgomery) of  Mishawaka,Tami Duncan of Mishawaka;  brothers, Jack (Taryn) McLean of Elkhart, Robert (Kristy) McLean of South Bend, Mike McLean of Mishawaka, and brother in law Merve Percer; step sister, Frances(Brian) Smith and step brother, Frankie Pacziniski.  He was also survived by his dear niece, Megan ; nephews, Larry Binder, J.J. (Katherine), Domenick, Justice, Shane (Angel) ,Tony, Jack ( Rachel), Joseph, and Austin; Nieces, Destiny, Amy, Heather and Brook; and several loved  great nieces and nephews; Uncles, Lester and Ronnie; Aunt Maggie; many loved cousins; and a blessed abundance of dear friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Casey Lee McLean; sister, Toni Percer and father, Robert McLean.

Lester was a lifelong resident of South Bend.  He was the owner of McLeans Tree Service of South Bend, IN. Les leaves behind a legacy of loving, caring and giving to anyone who was in need. He loved to dirt bike and his riding skills were awesome. His love for animals was beyond God’s expectation. He will be missed by all.

Memorial services will be held Saturday December 9th at 12 p.m  at Unity Church of Peace, 905  E. Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family prior to services beginning at 11:30 a.m.  A potluck dinner will follow the services.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com All contributions can be made to Lester’s wife, Shelley McLean.
