SOUTH BEND – Lucille “Babe” M. (Koehler) Schmotzer, 95, passed away at 5:45 AM Friday, April 10, 2015 at Golden Living Center – Fountainview, Mishawaka, Indiana.

Lucille was born on February 4, 1920 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Christian Koehler and Nina (Bailey) Koehler and has lived in this area since 1972, coming from Pittsburgh, PA where she lived from 1948-1972.

On August 3, 1947 in Chicago, IL, Lucille was united in marriage to William “Bill” Schmotzer, who survives.  Lucille cherished her role as a homemaker.  Along with her loving husband, Bill, she is survived by five nieces, Patty (Dr. Tom) Troeger of South Bend; Carol Hinebaugh (Ken) of Ft. Myers, FL, Linda Koprivnikar, Patricia Garner, and Lois Ann Callwood, of Pittsburg, PA; four nephews, Michael (Sandy) Koehler of Elkhart, IN; and Randy Schmotzer (Sylvia), Jerald Callwood, and James (Carol) Callwood  of Pittsburg, PA; and several great nieces and nephews.  Lucille was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Bourdon and her brother, Christian Koehler.

Visitation will be at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd, South Bend, from 9:30-10:30 AM, Saturday, April 18, 2015. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 AM at Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
