Luis Gallegos Obituary

Luis Soto Gallegos, 75, passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend. He was born on December 2, 1942 in Hidalgo, TX, to Cristoval and Tomasa (Soto) Gallegos.

On July 25, 1970, Luis married the former Sandra Key Ambler, who survives. Luis is also survived by daughters, Michelle Marie (Jim) Smith of Edwardsburg, MI, and Denise Lynn Seabolt of Dowagiac, MI; son, Craig Allan Benedict of Edwardsburg; twelve grandchildren, David Brody, Shara Brody, Clifford Seabolt, Ricky Reed, Stacey K. (Brian) Perri, Jolene (Ryan) Stauffer, Austin Benedict, Carissa Benedict, Chelsea Benedict, Emily (Michael) Smith, Joseph (Stephanie) Gallegos, and Olivia Gallegos; thirteen great-grandchildren; sister, Maria Vega of South Bend; and sister-in-law, Elma Gallegos of South Bend. In addition to his parents, Luis was preceded in death by daughter, Anita Ann Reed; son, Joseph A. Gallegos; sisters, Virginia (Cruz) Bandin and Consuelo (Federico) Rodriguez; brothers, Viviano (Jovita) Gallegos, Dionisio Gallegos, and Daniel (Lydia) Gallegos; and brother-in-law, Victor Vega.

Luis was employed as a diesel mechanic.

In accordance with Luis’ wishes, no services will be held. Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family.
