Marvin Max Mercier

Marvin Max Mercier, 82 years old, residing in South Bend, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Southfield Village. Marvin was born on September 26, 1935 in South Bend to Eli and Dorothy (Cripe) Mercier.

He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era from 1959 to 1962.

Marvin is survived by his twin sister, Martha Meier of Colorado, and sister-in-law Gladys Mercier of Colorado, half brother Kenneth Michael of Elkhart. Niece Cheryl and her husband Elmer Baker of Ohio. Also surviving are nine nieces and eight nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Robert Devon Mercier, half sisters Mary, Vivian and Arliss, his half brother ElI "Eugene" and his niece Cindy Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with family from 10:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home prior to funeral services. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, with military honors.
