Mary L. Blatz

November 23, 1932 – March 18, 2017

Mary L. Blatz, 84, residing in Granger, passed away peacefully at 12:00 noon on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Sanctuary at Holy Cross, South Bend.  She was born November 23, 1932 in South Bend, to the late Leo Edward & Marguerite Roth, and has remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On October 20, 1951 in South Bend, as Mary Roth, she was united in marriage to Richard H. Blatz. Together, they enjoyed 63 years of marriage until his passing on January 6, 2015.  She was also preceded by one son, Richard A. Blatz; and two brothers, Leo Roth and Chuck Roth.

She is survived by two sons, John (Deborah) Blatz of Mishawaka and Jim (Lora) Blatz of Osceola; grandchildren, Anthony Blatz, Damon (Jamie) Blatz, Ryan (John) Fisher, Missy (Aaron) Scott and Jamie Blatz; and great grandchildren, Dwayne, Patrick, Paige, twins Payten and Domanik, Jordan, Aaron, Ashlyn and Kayden.   

Mrs. Blatz was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger. 

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
