Mary E. Papczynski

Mary E. Papczynski, 87 years old, passed away at 2:04 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  Mrs. Papczynski was born on July 9, 1930 in South Bend to the late Clay Floyd and Emily I. (Blackburn) Strasser.  She has remained a lifelong resident.  On May 28, 1949 in South Bend, Mary and Alex J. Papczynski were united in marriage.  Alex preceded her in death on December 31, 2010.  Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Susan J. Nelund; son-in-law, Michael Sheely; grandson, Paul Bottomley; four sisters, and six brothers.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Sandra J. (Mike) Haws of Culver, Sharon J. Sheely of Lakeville, and Nancy M. (Jim) Yates of Goshen; three sons, Daniel A. (Gail) Papczynski, Paul D. (Shelley) Papczynski, and Donald J. (Glee) Papczynski, all of Lakeville; son-in-law, Jim Nelund of Lakeville; 22 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; and one great-great grandson. 

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN.  Mike Haws will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
