Melinda Fae DeLoach, 47, residing in Kent, WA, passed away at 5:40 am Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Swedish Hospital, Seattle, WA. She was a true soldier and fighter in her battle with breast cancer until the very end.
Melinda was born November 5, 1968 in South Bend to Wallace “Chip” and Linda Jean (MacTurch) DeLoach. She moved to the Seattle, WA area 27 years ago. She worked as the program coordinator in the financial aid department at Seattle Central College in Seattle for the past 20 years.
Melinda is survived by her daughters, Elizabeth A. and Ellessea L. DeLoach, both of Seattle, WA; her mother, Linda DeLoach of South Bend; grandmother, Estella MacTurch of South Bend; and sisters, Vengeria “Gina” (Shawn) Battle of Virginia Beach, VA and Denise DeLoach, Shauntae (Willie) Dixon and Brittany DeLoach, all of South Bend; as well as six nephews, four nieces and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace DeLoach; and grandfather, M.C. MacTurch.
Funeral services for Melinda will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 7, 2016 in the Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend. Rev. James E. King will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 am until service time Saturday in the funeral home.
