Michael James Fitzmaurice

Michael James Fitzmaurice, 65, residing in South Bend, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2015 in his home following a brief illness.

He was born September 14, 1950 in Mishawaka, IN, a son of Charles Clare & Georgina (Sherry) Fitzmaurice.  He has remained a lifelong resident of this community.  He graduated from Marian High School, and received his Bachelor’s in Business from Indiana University of South Bend.  He worked for Skyline for 36 years as a Cost Analyst.

On August 11, 1984 in Mishawaka, Michael was united in marriage to Norma J. Parcell who survives. He is also survived by his mother, Georgina Fitzmaurice of South Bend;  three sons, George Presnell, Jr., of South Bend; Brian (Cyndia) Presnell of Lakeville, and Deacon Bob Garrow of South Bend; three grandchildren, Stormy, Keri, and Jordan Presnell, his sister, Sherry (Tom) Cripe of South Bend, and brother-in-law, Bob Klowetter of South Bend.  Mike was preceded in death by his father, and his sister, Donna Klowetter in January 2015.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Cathedral of St. Matthew, South Bend. Monsignor Michael Heintz will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Cathedral. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
