Mireya Destiny Douglas

Mireya Destiny Douglas, age 16 days, passed away peacefully at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis on Monday morning. She was born on September 23, 2017 to Cassandra Hope Douglas at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

Mireya is survived by her mother, Cassandra; grandparents Virginia Solis (Marcelo Ortiz) of South Bend and Billy W. Douglas, Jr. of Elkhart; four aunts, Cecilia Maria Solis of South Bend, Monique Ramirez of South Bend, Crystal Marie Douglas of South Bend and Crysta Jane Douglas of South Bend. Mireya is also survived by her six cousins, Iseah Flemming of South Bend, Xavier Martinez of South Bend, Juel Clark of South Bend, Anilliana Molina of South Bend, Annalyse Perez of South Bend and Palemon Ramirez, Jr. of South Bend.

She was preceded in death by two great-grandmothers, Esperanza Davis and Sharon Douglas, a great-aunt, Trena Bauer and a great-uncle, Manuel Solis.

Services for Mireya will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel.  Friends may call on the family for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Taste of Mexico Dance Hall, 2637 W Western Avenue, South Bend.
