Norma J. Seggerman

July 8, 1929 ~ December 3, 2017 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Norma J. Seggerman, 88, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at BellTower Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mishawaka. She was born on July 8, 1929 in South Bend to Herbert W. and Blanche C. (Young) Merten, both whom preceded her in death.

On June 12, 1948 at Sunnyside Presbyterian Church in South Bend, Norma was married to Harold R. Seggerman, who preceded her in death on September 9, 1997. Norma is survived by her daughter Darlene K. (David) Colburn of Plymouth, IN; son, Kenneth A. (Margaret) Seggerman of Allen, TX; three grandchildren, Carey (Simon) Withy of Allen, TX; Jennifer McVicker; and Scott Colburn of Plymouth; and three great-grandchildren, Brandi, Tyffany and Dakota McVicker. In addition to her parents and husband, Norma was preceded in death by her sister, Carol McDonnell.

Norma graduated from Mishawaka High School in 1947. She worked at Ball Band on the “Victory Shift” during the war, and was employed for many years in food services at Penn High School. She also was employed at L.S. Ayres. Norma lived in Granger for fifty years, before moving to South Bend in 1997 after her husband passed away. Norma enjoyed playing the organ and gardening outdoors with flowers. She was a member of Granger Presbyterian Church for many years, and then was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Granger.

Friends may visit with the family from 10:00am-12:00pm on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN. Private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN.
