Patsy E. Carbiener

Patsy E. Carbiener, 86, of South Bend, IN passed away at 8:45 a.m. Friday, January 29, 2016 at her home.  She was born on April 7, 1929 in North Liberty, IN to Wilbert and Florence (Myers) Markle.  She was united in marriage on September 16, 1950 in North Liberty, IN to Ray J. Carbiener.

Pat Carbiener is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Ray J. Carbiener; two daughters, Jill (Jeff) Savage of Concord, NH and Gina Morgan of Lombard, IL; three grandchildren, Kyle and Leah Savage and Brian Morgan; one great grandchild, Nicholas (Morgan) Beckwith.  She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Paula Morgan; sister, Mary Sisk and two brothers, John Markle and Wilbert "Webb" Markle. 

Pat Carbiener was a lifelong area resident.  She worked as an inspector at Ristance Corporation in Bremen, retiring in 1984.  She also worked as a librarian for the Walkerton Elementary School for many years.  She formerly resided on Pine Road in Plymouth, IN and Shamrock Drive in Mishawaka, IN.

Visitation will be held 10:00 -11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN, with Funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty, IN.
