R. Calvin "Cal" White

R. Calvin "Cal"  White, 80, of South Bend, IN passed away at 8:37 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Hearth at Juday Creek, Granger, IN.  He was born on November 22, 1937 in Hardin County, TN to the late George and Glidis (Johnson) White.  On July 22, 1961, in South Bend, IN, he married Linda L. McChesney who preceded him in death on February 23, 2006.

Cal is survived by his daughter, Laura McAughan of Houston, TX; son, Rick White of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren, Devan White, Garrett White, Aaron McAughan, Peter McAughan, Brian McAughan and Phillip McAughan; sister, Shirley Lukavich of Washington, IL and three brothers, Vernon White, John White and Aaron (Sharon) White, all of South Bend, IN.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Linda, and brother, Ray White.  

Cal lived most of his life in South Bend. He graduated from Greene Township High School, earned his Bachelor Degree from Indiana University and his Master Degree from Northwestern University.  Cal served his country honorably in the United States Army.  He was a Vice President and Senior Trust Officer for 1st Source Bank, retiring after thirty-eight years of service.  He was President of Delta Chi National Fraternity and former President of Mental Health Association of St. Joseph County and was very active in the South Bend Jaycees and the United Way. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel,  3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services.  Entombment will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
