Reginald E. Pickens

Reginald E. Pickens, 67, residing in South Bend, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 15, 2017, at his home with his loving wife. He was born on December 1, 1949 in South Bend to Ralph Pickens and Willadene McQueen.

On December 28, 2004 in South Bend, Reggie married Michelle Jean Kietzman, who survives. In addition to his loving wife and his mother, Reginald is also survived by sons, Santana Pickens and Cody Pickens, both of Niles, MI; grandchildren, Jasmine Pickens and Cardan Pickens; sister, Tammy Pickens of South Bend; and brothers, Ron Pickens and Joe Pickens, both of South Bend. Reggie was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Pickens, and his brother, John Pickens.

Reggie served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was employed at Roempagel Construction. Reggie was an avid gardener, Civil War buff, and camping enthusiast. He enjoyed NASCAR’s Jeff Gordon and Danica Patrick as well as being a NFL fan. He especially enjoyed his man cave and drinking beer.

A viewing for family and friends of Reggie will be from 4:00-6:00pm on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Homes—Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. A Celebration of Life will be held at Reggie’s Man Cave immediately following the gathering at the funeral home.
