Richard Neal Nemeti, 69, residing in Niles, MI, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 in West Yellowstone, MT while on vacation. He was born May 29, 1946 in Minoa, NY to the late Leon and Irene Nemeti.
On August 16 in Syracuse, NY, Richard married the former Sally Jane Blankman, who preceded him in death on October 28, 2006. He is survived by his sons, Mike (Shentani) Nemeti of Niles, MI; Brian (Amber) Nemeti of Ft. Worth, TX and; grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph, Matthew and Megan Nemeti. Richard was preceded by an infant brother Leon Jr.
Richard earned his bachelor’s degree in marine biology at Syracuse University. He worked at Honeywell (Bendix) until retirement as a field engineer. Richard and Sally moved to Niles from Owasso, OK in 2006 and were members of Christ the King Catholic Church in South Bend.
Mass of Christian Burial for Richard will be celebrated at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 21, 2015 in Christ the King Catholic Church, 52473 IN 933, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where a rosary will be recited at 7:30 pm.
Memorial contributions may be donated to Hospice at Home, 4017 Chamberlain Rd, Buchanan, MI 49107.
